First measurement of the asymmetry and the Gerasimov-Drell-Hearn integrand from the 3He((pol)(γ(pol), p)2H reaction at an incident photon energy of 29 MeV

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 3He(polarized γ, p)2H, E=29 MeV; measured Ep, Ip, p(θ), time-of-flight, spin-dependent asymmetry and total σ using a circularly polarized, monoenergetic γ-ray beam and a longitudinally polarized 3He target, and an array of depleted silicon surface barrier detectors at the High Intensity γ-ray Source (HIγS) facility at TUNL; deduced contribution from the two-body photo-disintegration to the 3He Gerasimov-Drell-Hearn (GDH) integrands, and compared with the state-of-the art three-nucleon system calculations.
