Abstract
The polarization observables for elastic 400 and 700 MeV deuteron scattering from and nuclei have been analyzed in the framework of the multiple diffraction scattering theory and the -cluster model with dispersion. The rigid projectile approximation with “effective” - scattering amplitude as well as the three-body model, which uses nucleon- scattering amplitudes and the deuteron ground-state wave function with both and waves, are applied for the calculations. Both approaches are compared with each other and with the available experimental data.
