Abstract

We report the results of a series of measurements of the differential cross sections for inclusive pion double charge exchange in Li6,7, Be9, and C12 for positive and negative incident pions of energies 120, 180, and 240 MeV. The data are compared with the predictions of an intranuclear cascade model and a model based on two sequential single charge exchange processes.
