Abstract

A microscopic cluster model assuming α-, triton, and single-neutron clusters is applied to the halo nucleus 11Li and to its subsystems 9Li and 10Li. This model is consistent with an earlier successful description of 7,8,9Li. The results for the energies, radii, and other properties of 11Li are satisfactory. The binding of 11Li receives comparable contributions from p- and s-wave single-particle states. The two-neutron halo of 11Li is confirmed to be prominent although it is reduced by core distortion.
