Abstract
The reduced decay period of the triton, (ft 1/2)T=(1129.6±3)s, and the free-neutron decay period, (t 1/2)n=(616.7±;2.7±1.3) s, are determined from the experimental and theoretical values of the chemical shifts of atomic and molecular tritium.
