Abstract

The half-lives T1/2 for proton decay from the nuclei 53109I, 63131Eu, and 67141Ho are evaluated exactly, assuming that the emitted proton moves in a deformed single particle Nilsson level. The calculated values of T1/2, consistent with experiments, suggest a deformation of β0.14 for 53109I and β0.30.4 for 63131Eu and 67141Ho. The corresponding most likely candidate states as ground states are K=1/2+, K=5/2+, and K=7/2 for the above three nuclei, respectively. The recently found isomeric state in 67141Ho is interpreted as a K=1/2+ state.
