Abstract

The anomalous bandcrossing observed in the [541] ↓ bands of odd-Z nuclei from the rare-earth region was investigated in the framework of the particle-rotor model. The participation of the decoupling term in the K=1/2 band will give rise to a significant shift of the bandcrossing frequency, with an amplitude comparable to the observed values.
