Abstract

We have calculated the binding energies, rms radii, and deformation parameters for light nuclei, and helium through oxygen with and without pairing correlations using deformed relativistic mean field approach with the NL2 parameter set. The effects of pairing for open-shell nuclei have been investigated. It is pointed out that the pairing is crucial to study the shapes of the nuclei.
