Abstract

The shapes of even-even N=Z nuclei Ge64, Se68, Kr72, Sr76, and Zr80 are studied using deformed relativistic mean field theory. Large deformations (β≊0.5) for ground states are found for Sr76 and Zr80 nuclei. The microscopic structures of these superdeformed configurations are emphasized.
