Abstract

The Be9(t,α) reaction has been used to populate states in Li8. Angular distributions were measured for four low-lying narrow states, and distorted-wave Born approximation calculations (including coupled channels) were used to analyze the data. The results are compared with results of a Be9(d,3He) reaction and with Cohen-Kurath shell-model predictions.
