Abstract

Energy spectra of projectile-like fragments from collisions of 35 MeV/nucleon N14 with Ho165 are presented for laboratory angles of 10° and 30°. At 10° each spectrum shows a pronounced quasielastic peak at E/A just below 35 MeV. The peak widths are compared with predictions of the fragmentation model of Goldhaber and the peripheral model of Friedman. At 30° each spectrum is a decreasing exponential with slope dependent on the mass of the fragment. Coalescence-model calculations are compared with these data. Relative isotope distributions are presented for both angles.
