Nuclei out of Thermodynamical Equilibrium in an Extended Mean-Field Approach

Abstract

An alternative formulation of the extended mean-field equations proposed in 1981 by Balian and Vénéroni is presented, together with a numerical method of solution. The time evolution and approach to equilibrium of a spherically symmetric compressed nucleus are then investigated.
