Abstract

The (α,αp) reactions on O16 and Ca40 targets have been measured in a quasifree geometry using a 139.2 MeV α particle beam. In general, the shape of the experimental distributions are well described by distorted-wave impulse approximation calculations. Relative spectroscopic factors are consistent with (p,2p) studies. However, discrepancies in absolute magnitude exist and are discussed.
