Abstract

We argue that existing Σ-hypernuclear data do not unambiguously determine the Σ-nuclear spin-orbit splitting εp, and suggest that the reactions (K7,π+)Σ7H, (K13,π+)Σ13 Be, and (K13,π)Σ13 C are well suited for a unique determination of εp.
