Abstract

First results for O16(π±,π±p)Ng.s.15 at 240 MeV for θπ=35°, 60°, and 130° in quasifree kinematics are reported. π+π cross-section ratios much greater than for scattering by free protons are interpreted as due to a ΔN interaction interfering with the quasifree process.
