Abstract
The electroproduction of 12.3±0.7 MeV positive pions from , leading to low-lying states in , has been measured in the angular range for incident electron energies MeV. The unique character of transitions in the shell permits a direct comparison of with the analog electron scattering form factors in , assuming the strong -nucleus interaction can be neglected. For the two lowest states, the () angular distributions agree with the form factors. The convective term in the form factor for the third state is deduced from a comparison of the () and () data and is in good agreement with recent radiative pion capture results. The photoproduction cross section leading to the ground state is estimated.
