Abstract

We find large corrections to the O17 magnetic form factor arising from a two-pion exchange three-body force. These corrections are comparable in magnitude to meson exchange current contributions. The phases of the M1, M3, and M5 amplitudes due to the three-body force are favorable for improving agreement between theory and experiment, especially in the region of momentum transfer between 1.5 and 3.0 fm1.
