Abstract

A simple interaction potential for nuclear reactions is considered. This permits a clear understanding of the physical ideas underlying the current theoretical models used to explain the nature of 'molecular states'. The latter have been proposed as a possible explanation for the intermediate structure observed in the cross sections of some light-ion reactions.
