Abstract
Systematics of the population probability of () in the reaction (, ′)() were studied using the coupled channels formalism. It was found that is sensitive only to the parameters of the spin-orbit potential and is determined essentially by the magnitude and the shape of the spin-orbit potential in the region of the strong absorption radius. The data require a significantly larger spin-orbit potential than that given by the folding model.
