The total fusion cross section for the sytem ${}_{}{}^{12}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{C}$ + ${}_{}{}^{17}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{O}$ has been measured in the energy region between $E_{\mathrm{c}.\mathrm{m}.\mathrm{}}=14\mathrm{}$ MeV and 33 MeV. A maximum fusion cross section of 1200±50 mb was obtained in good agreement with the results for other systems in this mass range.
