Core-excited states that were selectively excited in ${}_{}{}^{12}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{C}({}_{}{}^{12}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{C},\alpha ){}_{}{}^{20}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Ne}$ are found to be also selectively excited in ${}_{}{}^{12}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{C}({}_{}{}^{10}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{B},d){}_{}{}^{20}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Ne}$, though perhaps to a lesser extent.
