Abstract

An intermediate-type resonance of width Γc.m.=130±25 keV has been observed in the excitation functions of the n, p, d, and α-particle exit channels at Ec.m.=12.77 MeV in the C12 + O16 reaction. The energy of the resonance as well as its probable spin J=8 are in good agreement with the predictions obtained from the semiclassical expression for the grazing orbit.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS C12(O16, n), Ec.m.=10.715.9 MeV; measured σ(n); C12(O16, p), C12(O16, d), C12(O16, α), C12(O16, O16), Ec.m.=12.4313.93 MeV; measured σ(p), σ(d), σ(α), σ(O16).
