Abstract

Cross sections have been measured for the O18(α,n3,4γ)Ne21 reactions which populate the Jπ=12,12+ doublet at 2.8 MeV excitation in Ne21. These states are possible candidates for the study of nuclear parity mixing. Data are presented for α-particle energies in the range 4.3 to 6.5 MeV.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS O18(α,nγ), E=4.36.5 MeV; measured σ(E) for (α,n3) and (α,n4). Enriched target.
