Abstract

A recent high resolution study of Mg24(He3,t) found that the cross section to a presumed single 1+ state of Al24 at 1.12 MeV is in fact a doublet. This peak in the spectra was successfully separated into two peaks in a reanalysis of our previous data, and the new results were compared with the earlier discussion of the reaction mechanism. It is found that a new state of spin (1,2,3)+ exists near 1.12 MeV in Al24.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS Mg24(He3,t) to 1.12 MeV doublet in Al24. Comparison to earlier CCBA analysis.
