Abstract
The spins and parities of the 3723 keV, 4294 keV and 5313 keV levels in 36Cl have been determined to be 4-, 6- and 7+ respectively. These assignments were made with the aid of angular distribution and linear polarisation data obtained from the 33S( alpha ,p gamma )36Cl reaction. The resulting transition strengths are compatible with those expected from simple shell-model configurations.
