Abstract

Angular distributions of the Be8 ions from (Be9, Be8) reactions on the target nuclei Si28 and Ca40 have been measured at an energy of 20 MeV (lab). The products of the spectroscopic factors of Be9 and several states of the residual nuclei Si29 and Ca41 were extracterd from a distorted-wave-Born-approximation analysis. Using the spectroscopic factors of Si29 and Ca41 levels, known from (d,p) reactions, a spectroscopic factor of 0.42 ± 0.04 for Be9 was found.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS Si28(Be9, Be8) and Ca40(Be9, Be8), Elab=20 MeV; measured σ(θ) for stripping to levels of Si29 and Ca41, finite-range DWBA analysis; deduced spectroscopic factor of Be9.
