Abstract

Angular distributions of the analyzing power, polarization function, and polarization transfer coefficient Kyy at Et=10.5 MeV for the H2(t,n)He4 reaction have been measured. In addition, Kyy(0°) data for energies between 6 and 14 MeV have been obtained. Both neutron and charged particle detection were used in these measurements. Also, an angular distribution of the analyzing power for the elastic scattering process H2(t,t)H2 at 10.5 MeV is presented. Comparisons with predictions of an R-matrix analysis of the five-nucleon system are included.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS H2(t,n), Et=10.5 MeV, measured analyzing Ay(θ) at θc.m.=39148°; polarization function Py(θ) and polarization transfer coefficient Kyy(θ) at θc.m.=0° to θc.m.=115°; Kyy(0°) at Et=5.4 to 15.7 MeV. Also, nuclear reaction H2(t,t), Et=10.5 MeV, measured Ay(θ), θc.m.=48138°.
