Abstract

The elastic and inelastic scatterings of π by C12 are calculated from the π-nucleon scattering matrix of the Chew model which fits the π-nucleon P33 phase shift data up to about 200 MeV. The results are compared with those calculated from the Kisslinger and Landau-Tabakin models to study the off-shell dependence of the π-nucleus scattering.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS C12(π, π), E=120230 MeV; calculated σ(θ), σ with various models of π-nucleon interaction.
