Abstract

Levels of Cd109 populated by Pd108(α, 3nγ)Gd109 have been studied by measuring γ-ray excitation functions, direct γ spectra, γγ coincidences, and γ-ray angular distributions and by performing lifetime measurements. An intense γ-ray cascade has been observed, built on the 112 intrinsic state and involving states of spin 112, 152, 192, 232, and (272). A decay level scheme is proposed including states up to 4502 keV.

NUCLEAR REACTION Pd108(α, 3nγ), E=36.745.8 MeV; enriched Pd108 target; measured σ(E), γγ coin, σ(θ)γ, T12, deduced decay scheme, J, π.
