The ${}_{}{}^{64}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Ni}$(${}_{}{}^4{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{He}$, ${}_{}{}^8{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{He}$)${}_{}{}^{60}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Ni}$ reaction was used at 58-MeV bombarding energy with the quadrupole-dipole-dipole-dipole spectrograph, giving an improved value of the ${}_{}{}^8{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{He}$ mass excess of 31.611±0.017 MeV.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ${}_{}{}^{64}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Ni}$(${}_{}{}^4{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{He}$, ${}_{}{}^8{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{He}$); $E=58\mathrm{}$ MeV; ${}_{}{}^8{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{He}$ mass excess measured.
