Abstract
A detailed analysis of our calculation on the He reaction using the resonating-group method shows that at sufficiently high energies, the differential reaction cross section can be well accounted for in the forward angular region by a one-nucleon pickup process and in the backward angular region by a two-nucleon pickup process. Also, it is found that even at relatively low energies, the distorted-wave Born approximation or weak-coupling approximation is reasonably valid for this reaction.
