Abstract

Measurements have been made of the asymmetric proton yields about the Li5 recoil direction using the sequential reaction Li6(He3,αp)He4 for both the ground and first excited states of Li5 at a beam energy of 1.54 MeV. Measurements were made out of the reaction plane, and the results are in qualitative agreement with the predictions of a model proposed by Reimann, Martin, and Vogt. Distorted-wave Born-approximation stripping theory may also be capable of explaining the asymmetric results.
