Abstract

Strong preferential excitation of the odd-parity levels in ${}^{18}F$ and sharply forward-peaked angular distributions have been observed in the reaction ${}^{15}N ({}^{6}{Li}, t) {}^{18}F$ . These results imply that the reaction mechanism contains a direct component and that the odd-parity levels have large ${(p)}^{- 1} {(sd)}^{3}$ configurations.
