Abstract

A new cascade-decoupling technique has been used to measure hyperfine intervals (in MHz) of the following excited S states of alkali-metal atoms: K39(6S122)46±2; K41(6S122)26±2; Rb85(7S122)270±10; Rb85(8S122)135±15; Rb87(7S122)565±60; Rb87(8S122)290±20; Cs133(8S122)680±120; and Cs133(9S122)405±30.
