Abstract

The polarization and the differential scattering cross section for neutrons scattered from B10 have been measured for 0.075En2.2 MeV. These results, together with those from the B10(n,α0)Li7, B10(n,α1)Li*7 (0.48 MeV), Li7(α,α)Li7, Li7(α,α)Li*7 (0.48 MeV), and other reactions leading to states in B11, have been simultaneously interpreted in one consistent R-matrix calculation. The calculated results are in good agreement with most of the data and give new information about states in B11. The level parameters obtained for these states and the calculated reaction cross sections are consistent with the corresponding quantities in the mirror nucleus C11. Quantitative explanations are given both for the well-known 1v behavior of the cross section for the B10(n,α)Li7 reaction and for the α0α1 branching ratio.
