A method, described earlier, which has been shown to help resolve the question of phase-equivalent discrete ambiguities in the optical-model-potential description of heavy-ion scattering is applied to the case of ${}_{}{}^{16}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{O}$ + ${}_{}{}^{16}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{O}$ elastic scattering.
