Abstract

The ( $α$ , $2 α$ ) reaction on ${}^{6}{Li}$ has been studied at an incident energy of 42.8 MeV. At this energy, a sharp resonance in the free $α - α$ scattering cross section is used to test the validity of the impulse approximation. The experimental results are analyzed with this model.
