Abstract

The Ti50(He3,d)V51 reaction has been studied at 16.4-MeV incident energy with an over-all energy resolution of 20 keV full width at half maximum (fwhm). 57 levels in V51 were identified up to 9.5-MeV excitation, and corresponding deuteron angular distributions were recorded in the angular interval 7° to 50°. Spectroscopic information has been extracted for 27 of the strongest or most well-isolated transitions by means of a distorted-wave analysis of the differential cross sections. The results are compared with nuclear-structure model predictions.
