Abstract

The shape, width, and location of the 16-MeV resonances in the α-particle energy spectrum from the Li6(Li6, α)Be8 reaction were found to be a function of the angle taken by the breakup fragments in the subsequent decay of the Be8. This was caused by the long-range electrostatic interaction between the α particle and the breakup particles.
