Abstract
A target enriched to 40% in was bombarded with 10-MeV deuterons, and the emitted protons were analyzed with a broad-range magnetic spectrograph. Angular distributions of the groups corresponding to the ground and 12 excited states of were measured and analyzed using plane-wave theory. The predicted state arising from the () configuration was found to be at 5.37-MeV excitation. Relative reduced widths and spectroscopic factors were determined from the stripping analysis, and were found to be in good agreement with recent theoretically predicted wave-function amplitudes. This implies that several states of have an appreciable collective component.
