Abstract

The proton polarization angular distributions from the following reactions have been measured: C12(d,p)C13*(3.09 MeV,ln=0); Mg24(d,p)Mg25(g.s.,ln=2,and 0.58 MeV,ln=0); Be9(d,p)Be10(g.s.,ln=1,and 3.37 MeV,ln=1); Si28(d,p)Si29*(1.28 MeV,ln=2). The incident deuteron energy was 15 MeV. Carbon and helium were used as polarization analyzers. The results are discussed in terms of distorted-wave theory. In addition to the polarization measurements, the differential cross section of deuterons elastically scattered from aluminum, silicon, and beryllium has been determined.
