Abstract

The 9.17-Mev radiation from the reaction C13(p, γ)N14, Ep=1.75 Mev, was used to obtain resonant absorption in the inverse process N14+γN14*(Eex=9.17 Mev). The strength of the absorption was measured as a function of absorber thickness. Analysis of the measurements gives Γ=(77±12) ev and ωΓγ=(14.5±2) ev. The latter value indicates dipole radiation.
