Abstract

Using a thin gas target, the differential cross sections for the two most energetic proton and alpha groups have been measured; an expansion in the form Σa_nP_n (cosθ) has been fitted to the results. In no case was the value of a_n significant for n > 3, indicating that deuteron stripping is not important below 1 mev bombarding energy.
