Evidence for a Smooth Onset of Deformation in the Neutron-Rich Kr Isotopes

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ^194,196Pt(⁹⁴Kr, ⁹⁴Kr'), (⁹⁶Kr, ⁹⁶Kr'), 285 MeV/nucleon; measured reaction products, Eγ, Iγ. ^94,96Kr; deduced J, π, B(E2), spectroscopic quadrupole moments. Comparison with IBM calculations based on the constrained HFB approach using the microscopic Gogny-D1M energy density functional.
