Elongated shape isomers in the ³⁶Ar nucleus

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE ³⁶Ar; analyzed superdeformed and hyperdeformed structures, shape isomers and moments of inertia using shell model, touching cluster and compressed cluster configurations.

Possible hyperdeformed band in ³⁶Ar observed in ¹²C+²⁴Mg elastic scattering

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ²⁴Mg(¹²C, ¹²C), E(cm)=10.67-16.00 MeV; analyzed angular distributions and excitation functions. ³⁶Ar; deduced resonances, resonance parameters, hyperdeformed band. Comparison with previous results from ²⁰Ne(¹⁶O, ¹⁶O) reaction.
