Toward an energy measurement of the internal conversion electron in the deexcitation of the 229Th isomer

RADIOACTIVITY 229mTh(IT)[from 233U(α)]; measured Eα, Iα, ce, (ce)α-coin using CANBERRA Passivated Implanted Planar Silicon (PIPS) detector. Numerical simulations by SRIM package for optimizing the stopping layer thickness. Discussed experimental method towards determining excitation energy of first excited isomeric state of 229Th. Relevance to applications of 229mTh as a nuclear clock.
