Interaction of ⁸He with ²⁰⁸Pb at near-barrier energies: ⁴He and ⁶He production

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ²⁰⁸Pb(⁸He, ⁶He), (⁸He, α), (⁸He, ⁸He), E=16, 22 MeV; measured reaction products, and differential σ(θ) using GLORIA detector array of SPIRAL-GANIL facility; deduced σ(2n)/σ(1n) ratio. Comparison with optical model and DWBA calculations. Inferred dominant neutron-stripping mechanism.

Pairing in Exotic He Isotopes

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ²⁰⁶Pb(⁶He, α)²⁰⁸Pb, E=18 MeV;²⁰⁸Pb(⁸He, ⁶He), E not given; calculated, reanalyzed 2n transfer probabilities vs the closest approach

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE ^6,8He; calculated, reanalyzed 2n transfer probability data; deduced strong pairing of 2 valence neutrons in ⁶He, similar to that found in ¹⁸O, weaker, but still strong effect for ⁶He.
