Analysis with a multichannel R-matrix approach. Shell model with FSU interaction Hamiltonian calculations. Comparison with other experimental data. TexAT active target at magnetic achromat recoil separator (Cyclotron Institute at Texas AM University).

Search for evidence of rotational cluster bands in 18O

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 12C(7Li, p)18O*, E=44.0 MeV; measured reaction products, recoil protons, (18O break-up particle)α-coin using the Q3D magnetic spectrograph, and the Birmingham large-angular-coverage DSSD array at the Maier-Leibnitz Laboratory (MLL) in Garching. 18O; deduced levels, J, π, total widths, Γα/Γ branching ratios, barrier penetration, θα2, bands, no evidence of consistent (14C+α or 12C+2n+α) cluster structure for any of the bands. Comparison with previous experimental results.
