Induced decay of a long-lived nuclear isomer 178Hfm2 in a laser thermonuclear plasma

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 178mHf(α, α'), E AP 3.5 MeV, [α from deuterium-tritium plasma in fusion reaction]; 178mHf(e, e'), E=130-200 keV, [electrons from laser thermonuclear plasma]; calculated σ for the excitation of 14- excited state at 2572 keV in 178Hf and the probability of fast induced decay of 178mHf. Also discussed production and accumulation of 31-y isomer of 178Hf.
