Measurements of the pair production cross section close to the threshold energy

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹⁵⁵Gd(n, γ)¹⁵⁶Gd, E=thermal; measured Eγ, Iγ, γ spectrum from pair production; deduced e⁺e^- pair production cross sections by photons of Eγ=1040-1530 keV. Comparison with theoretical predictions of Bethe-Heitler model. Bragg diffraction technique using GAMS spectrometer to select γ rays above 1022 keV. Pair spectrometer for γ rays from pair production.
